THE PROCESS: LAUNCHING A NEW WEBSITE DESIGN WITH MOTEGRAFX

Although properly planning, developing and publishing a web design of any complexity is challenging, MoteGraFX makes the process surprisingly trouble-free and convenient for our clients.  Based on years of experience, we have developed a structured yet flexible process for taking a web site design project from concept to completion.  This framework allows our web designers to work effectively and rapidly as a team, while maintaining the highest quality and reducing miscommunication. 

In any case, our primary focus is always to make the process as pleasant as possible for the client while promptly delivering a final product that is obviously well worth every dollar expended.  The following is a summary overview of the typical steps involved in our pre-sales, proposal, design and review, testing, publication and maintenance phases:

Typically, a potential web design client contacts us by phone or email to inquire about our services.  We discuss the envisioned project requirements and objectives, and ask questions as appropriate to gain a clear understanding about what is desired.  Depending on the client's location, we may schedule one or more on-site meetings to collaboratively sketch out preliminary details and frame a basic strategy.  We will also determine desired intended project deadlines and any other special considerations.

2. Initial Proposal and Project Quote:

After any required follow-up communications, MoteGraFX will compose a Project Quote and Proposal for client review and answer any resulting questions.  Upon client acceptance of the proposal, a 50% deposit is normally remitted to engage our firm, and work begins. At this point, we will ensure that clear points of contact are established to facilitate client review of ongoing web design activities and prompt approval of any necessary project decisions.  Arrangements will also be made for our designers to obtain from the client any proprietary content necessary to create the web design.

3. Design and Review:

A draft homepage design illustrating a proposed color scheme, logo characteristics, initial navigation scheme and general page layout will be created. Depending on the nature of the site, this may take the form of a graphical representation (or "comp") to be reviewed by the client, or an actual draft web page viewable online.  A "live preview" area will be established on one of our test servers to enable the client to conveniently review site development 24 hours a day, from project start to finish, and a link sent to the client by email, allowing click and view convenience.

4. Testing and Refinement:

At regular intervals, our designers will test each page and component of the website design to verify that it looks and works as expected in different browsers and on different systems.  Any required modifications will be promptly identified and resolved.  This process becomes more in-depth as the site approaches publication. 

5. Publishing:

Prior to "going live" with a new web design, the client and our staff will conduct a final comprehensive review of the entire site to identify any errors, omissions or other issues.  Once everyone is satisfied and any other necessary arrangements are in place, the new website design will be published to your hosting account or server, and any existing domains "pointed" to the new site.  If we are replacing an existing older website, we will archive your outdated files and provide them to you on CD before deleting them from the server.  If we are publishing to a new MoteGraFX hosting account, we will also configure all of your new email addresses and other server settings at this time.

Once the web design has been successfully published, we will run a series of tests to ensure that all is well, and...viola! You're online.  Your clients or customers can usually start visiting the site immediately.

6. Maintenance, Updates and Upgrades:
